While they are away, Daniela tries to get into the artifacts room but finds the room securely locked. Daniela, who is curious about speaking to the dead after the death of her father, gives a pair of roller skates to Judy as her birthday present and convinces her to play with Mary Ellen outside. Her friend Daniela arrives uninvited to the Warrens' home. After shopping at her friend's supermarket and talking with her crush, Bob Palmeri, Mary Ellen starts to bake a cake for Judy's birthday. At school, Judy sees the spirit of a priest that begins following her. One year later, in 1972, the Warrens welcome Mary Ellen, who will be in charge of babysitting the couple's daughter, Judy, to their home when they go overnight to investigate another case. The doll summons spirits to attack Ed as they drive to their home but he survives and Annabelle is placed in a sacred glass case in the couple's artifacts room and blessed by Father Gordon to ensure her evil is contained.
And yes, Wilson and Farmiga are scheduled to cameo in the movie.The synopsis below may give away important plot points. Grace is playing a familiar character in a bit of a recast: she’s Judy Warren, the daughter of Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga), who was tormented by Annabelle during the creepiest sequences of the original 2013 Conjuring movie. Madison Iseman ( Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Goosebumps 2) has landed a starring role as the babysitter of McKenna Grace ( Gifted, Troop Zero). Paramount has also tapped him to write the screenplay for a cinematic adaptation of the popular Nickelodeon horror anthology for tweens from the 1990s, Are You Afraid of the Dark. After all, he’s worked on the screenplay both for last year’s smash hit It and next summer’s highly anticipated It: Chapter Two. Of course, it may be Dauberman becoming even more in-demand within horror filmmaker circles outside of the franchise that leveraged him into the director’s chair.
In addition to penning the first two Annabelle movies, Dauberman also wrote the screenplay to The Nun spin-off from The Conjuring 2. Gary Dauberman, who penned the first two Annabelle movies, as well as working on the screenplay for Stephen King’s It, makes his directorial debut with the new movie. Dauberman has kind of been the unofficial mind behind “ The Conjuringuniverse” when James Wan and the Hayes writing team is taking a break from the main series.
